College Town

Just arrived in college town, I hardly have my bearings down, there’s one…
There’s one girl on my shoulder, she’s screams “Don’t say I never told ya, about the people, they just get colder,
as they pretend they’re not getting older… you can’t run… cause those legs can hardly carry you son”
The books they hardly prick my mind, their answers I can never find,
Cause there’s two… two words that she had spoken and after that I was awoken, but she had a gone and left a token,
A picture that left me broken… I was gone… And left here to write her this song
Trapped in rooms that might as well be empty.
Those words I said, what the hell has gotten into me?
Does she care? All about the clothes I wear?
The fact that I can hardly stare at those eyes of hers…
And now it looks as if he’s changing her mind. Why did I waste my precious time?
Walking back home in the dark... the people you see make their usual remarks.
Suggesting that you’ve played your game… but you don’t feel like telling them you’ll never be the same.
After realizing that they were only dreaming.. they knew they would lose the spark .
Her words were final, simple, plain and stark…Did he really think he’d get away with this affair and make her stay?
Did he really think he’d get away?
At twenty-three, she looked to see, the kind of woman she promised… not to be.
Sorrow had made these rings around her eyes, for the boy she chose was in disguise,
When he told her all those splendid lies, she replayed back that day a thousand times,
Quite aware… that what she needed was just right there..
Trapped in a room that has become thick with memories
Words of regret and anger now come to me with ease.
Do you care? How to many it is all unfair?
The fact that you couldn’t even spare your precious time with us…
More than once you’ll cross my mind, I hope in time I’ll feel more kind…
I’m laying here in college town, I’ve finally got my bearings down,
I’m not done…

Belle (Get Well)

You are my friend
and you're not feeling well
I'd make your illness end
But I can only tell
How much I've missed you
and how I haven't a clue, what to do
with all this free time
I think I should hit the books
and learn how cells function
But I'd rather go with you
and see another school production
You need to get your shit together
Though I have no doubts that you'll be better
And soon I'll see you, oh the things we have yet to do.

Mirrors Are Blind
02:08
|
|||
The prettiest girl can feel insecure,
When she fails to recognize her valor.
Because mirrors are blind to a beauty,
Which I see at first glance, absolutely.
For my eyes reach much deeper than can light,
And the beauty revealed, I can’t fight.
For carnal lust is cured with distraction,
But her soul grasps me with stronger passion.
There is no relief from a gorgeous heart,
Besides an embrace from her lips like art;
And with her lips, her soul will kiss mine,
And with that kiss, my heart I will consign.
From insecurity, she will be free.
For her true, perfect beauty, she will see.

On a Bus to Madison
02:51
|
|||
On this snowy day
I will see someone dear.
I'm going out on my own
to overcome my fears.
Leaning on a windowsill,
my reflection seems to say
“Who are you, what are you doing here?”
So I answer, trying to make it clear.
That there are times when something feels so right,
an idea that keeps you up at night.
There are people who will come into your life,
and without them it just won’t feel right.
“She’s hurting” I say out loud.
My reflection is silent but not at all proud.
Though the snow outside blurs his complexion.
It is only then that I make the connection.
It is not sympathy that landed me on this bus,
But rather a true friend I love and trust,
You who I have missed so much.

He opened his eyes for the first time
She helped train them to see
He won't get lost like the last time
Nor get cast out into the sea
But rather he'll stay his ground upon this sandy beach
And lay by her side though she is out of reach,
Maybe even sing a song that they both know
Forgetting for awhile that she'll have to go.
Come over, come over just right now,
I'm struggling to find that hidden power
To just state the obvious
Stop fiddling with that thing around your neck
I didn't sail this ship for it to wreck
Though I'm practically underwater
She raised the roll of negative, to her face
Scanning the still lives in her hands
A picture she took seem to be misplaced
With it however she had no plans
But rather she’ll jump the ship and leave this place
She calls it her freedom, yet he thinks it a mistake
They pushed their luck by riding it out together
Little do they know that they both came out better.
Fumble with the key before you open the door,
Keep your eyes off from the floor,
Don’t act like sentimental bitch,
Otherwise you’ll be left in the ditch,
flies buzzing around your eyes,
an unpleasant disguise...
For she’ll walk in soon
Dressed in blue.
